UMass Lowell Athletics Hall of Fame
A New England Champion and an All-American in both indoor and outdoor track and field, Jefferson left her mark on UMass Lowell at both at the Division II and Division I levels, even helping the transition to the Division I level as part of the NCAA Reclassification Steering Committee. Part of the indoor and outdoor teams that won the 2012 and 2013 Northeast 10 Championships, she also found individual success, as she became an America East Champion in the 200m and 4x400m relays, holds seven school records and is ranked on the program's top 10 lists in 11 different events. Alongside all of her success on the track, she was also a 2015 America East Woman of the Year Finalist and NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee, and is one of two females to earn the Lester H. Cushing Award twice in their career. She was also a student representative on the NCAA IPP committee, tutor for the Student-Athlete Academic Center as a peer mentor for developmental instruction, as well a member of the UMass Lowell Choosing Personal Leadership Program. Murphy completed the masters program here at UMass Lowell in 2016 and filled the program's role of Director of Operations in the same year while continuing her work in the Student-Athlete Academic Center.
