(1992) - One of the finest outfielders for head coach Jim Stone's baseball program, Ken Connerty was one of the hardest working players to ever wear a Chiefs' uniform. He was elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame in his fifth year of eligibility.

Ken was the team captain his senior year and co-captain as a junior. He was an All-New England first team selection in 1982 and a second team honoree in 1983. He was also named to the All-new England Collegiate Conference team as a senior.

As a freshman, Ken hit a solid .302 with three triples in 18 games. Earning a regular position as a sophomore, he hit .360 with 22 runs batted in and then a school record six triples. His spectacular leaping catch at the fence in the bottom of the ninth inning against the University of New Haven saved the Chiefs' first-ever win against the Chargers.

"KC" raised his average to a career best .378 as a junior with a team leading 42 base hits, 9 doubles and 2 triples. As a senior, he hit .368 and was the only player to play in all 31 games. During his four seasons, the Chiefs compiled an 87-33 record and went to the 1981 NCAA regional tournament.

An assistant coach for Coach Jim Stone since 1988, Connerty took over the helm for Coach Stone when he retired in 2003.
