(1985) - One of the finest goalies to ever play hockey for coach Bill Riley at the University of Lowell, Brian Doyle was a true "student-athlete" in every sense of the word.

The backbone of the Chiefs first ECAC NCAA Division II championships, he posted a sparkling 3.26 goals against average in 102 games over four seasons. He stopped 89.5% of the shots he faced and six times shutout the opposition.

Elected to the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, Doyle still holds or shares many school records for goalies. Twice during his playing days he posted more than 20 wins in one season and shared the school record for the best single season save percentage with Mike Geragosian (.905).

As a freshman, Brian was named to the All-New England team by the New England Hockey Writers Association after compiling a 2.76 goals against average and a 90.5 save percentage. As a senior, he shared the Lester H. Cushing Award with John Alberghini as the top male athlete. he was also selected to play in the American Hockey Coaches Association Senior All-Star game, but did not participate. During his four years, the Chiefs posted an 84-28-0 Record and qualified for the ECAC playoffs four times and the NCAA tournament twice.
