(1992) - One of the truly outstanding hockey players of the Lowell Technological Institute era (1967-75), Steve Woods graduated from Lowell Tech in 1975 as the hockey program's all-time leading scorer with 160 points. He was the tenth member of the hockey program to be elected to the Athletic Hall of Fame. Woods played on two ECAC Division II tournament teams for former coach Bill Riley, leading the team in scoring three times. An excellent center, Steve ranked among the program's all-time leading scorers despite playing only 89 career games.

As a freshman, he tied for the team scoring lead with Mike McElligott netting a team high 27 goals and 17 assists for 44 points. He had a school record 11 powerplay goals, two shorthanded goals and four game winning goals. He also spent just 14 minutes in the penalty box as the Terriers compiled a 12-11-0 overall record and earned the school's first ever ECAC tournament berth.

Steve finished second in scoring to Bob Kearin as a sophomore with 18 goals and 18 assists. He had eight powerplay goals, one shorthanded goal, and two game winners. He regained the team scoring leadership as a junior with 33 points on 12 goals in 21 assists.

The Terriers earned their second ECAC tournament bid during Steve's senior year as he led the team in scoring with 20 goals and 27 assists. He tied his then school record (set as a freshman) with 11 powerplay goals.
