(1978) - Michael "Mickey" Connors came to Lowell State College as a transfer student from Boston University. The two-sport standout preceded to enjoy a fine athletic career at LSC (1956-59) in both baseball and basketball. An outstanding defensive player as both a centerfielder and shortstop, Connors played on three straight New England State Teachers Conference baseball championship teams.

He compiled a fine career batting average with a mark of .336 and in 1957 was ranked number eight in the country among small college baseball players in average stolen bases per game. The former LSC basketball captain had a career scoring average of 14.2 points per game which placed him 8th among LSC career leaders.

Connors served three years (1952-1955) in the Marine Corps reaching the rank of Sergeant while on during during the Korean Conflict.
