(1990) - Once the all-time leading scorer in the history of the women's basketball program, Chris Azzarito became the first woman to score 1,000 points when she reached that milestone January 17, 1984 against Southern Connecticut State University. The second female, and the first from the women's basketball program, to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame, she was elected in her second year of eligibility.

By graduation, Azzarito held four women's basketball career records including points (1,228), field goals attempted (1,268) and made (545), and scoring average (12.7).

ULowell's first player named to the New England Collegiate Conference All-Star team, Azzarito was a second team selection in 1983-84 and an honorable mention in 1982-83.

Known for her tough inside play and devastating turnaround jumper, Azzarito played a major role in the development of the ULowell women's basketball program which started in 1972 at Lowell State College. Respected by her teammates for her work ethic, Azzarito was a rare three-year captain who led the team in scoring and rebounding in her sophomore and junior years in 1981-82 and 1982-83.

Azzarito also played softball for two seasons (1981-83), starting at third base.
