The River Hawks then moved onto the NCAA Tournament, where they knocked off Concordia to be crowned the NCAA Northeast Regional Champions, advancing to advance to the program's first Division II College World Series. The team would win its program-record 39th game of the season and first College World Series game with a 13-5 victory over Central Missouri in the opening game of the tournament.
