UMass Lowell Athletics

Kennedy is the largest benefactor of UMass Lowell Athletics, contributing to every single program and the department as a whole. In 2025, he made an unprecedented $4 million gift to the department. Kennedy graduated from one of UMass Lowell's predecessor institutions, Lowell Technological Institute, and went on to have a highly successful career in the tech sector. Beyond his generous gifts, Kennedy is also the co-chair of the Athletics Advisory Board and serves on numerous other boards across campus, including the Chancellor's Advisory Council and the Kennedy College Advisory Board. He previously served as a primary advisor to athletics during the Division I transition and was a volunteer assistant golf coach from 2007-2010.
