(1998) - Steve Lane, Class of 1993, was a two-sport standout at Lowell, as he was a guard on the basketball team under Stan VanGundy's tutelage and a key performer at second base on Head Coach Jim Stone's baseball squad.

He was a two-time ABCA Honorable Mention All-American on the diamond and appeared in the New England Intercollegiate Baseball All-Star Game at Fenway Park on two occasions. A three-time all-NECC and ECAC All-Star, he held numerous career baseball records, including at-bats (182) and singles (53) in one season as well as all career, single season and single game stolen base records. Lane also held the Lowell record for putouts in one game with 22 and helped lead the team to the 1991 NCAA New England Regional championship game.

Steve led the basketball team in scoring as a junior (15.8 ppg) and led the team in assists as a junior and senior. He ranked third on Lowell career three-point field goal list with 153 treys and registered the 18th and 19th highest single season point totals in school history.
