(1978) - Michael R. Camuso enjoyed a fine athletic career at Lowell Technological Institute (1968-1972). He excelled both in basketball and baseball and was named to be the recipient of the coveted Lester h. Cushing Award in his senior year as LTI's best all-around athlete. As captain of both the basketball and baseball teams, Camuso's last year found him completing his collegiate days with some very impressive statistics. In his senior year in basketball, he averaged 20.4 points and 14 rebounds per game and was selected to play in the New England Coaches' All Star game.

A member of the select LIT's 1000 point club with a career total of 1089, the rugged 6'5" forward was also voted to the All-East Division III All-Star squad. On the baseball diamond, Camuso batted .323 for three seasons as a pitcher he complied a 13-9 record with an amazing 212 strike-outs and a fine ERA of 2.70.

Although drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1968, Camuso waited until graduation fro LTI before giving professional baseball a try (1972-76) with the St. Louis Cardinals' organization.
