(1990) - A junior college transfer who was a Division I and III cross country All-American in 1976, Bob Hodge was originally a member of the Class of 1978 before leaving school to pursue his running career. He returned to the University in 1986 to finish his degree and graduated in June 1990. He was elected into the Athletic Hall of Fame in his eighth year of eligibility and is the eleventh member of head coach George Davis' program to be so honored.

Bob finished second at the 1976 NCAA Division III championships and was the twelfth American finisher (2nd overall) at the Division I championship to be al All-American at both levels, the only ULowell track athlete to accomplish that feat. He was fifth at the New England Championship (includes all three divisions) that same season to earn All-New England honors.

Among the all-time top ten, Bob presently ranked first in the mile and second in the two-mile indoors, and was listed second in the mile, first in three three-mile, fourth at the 5K meters, and third in the six-mile outdoors.

Renowned throughout running circles, Bob twice finished in the top ten in the Boston Marathon (third in 1979; sixth in 1986). He has won the Mt. Washington Road Race seven times and qualified for the US Olympic trials trials in in the marathon and 10K meters in 1984 and 1988. He also qualified for the marathon trials in 1980. His best finish in the marathon trials was seventh in 1988.
