(2000) - Tom Lafferty enjoyed four brilliant seasons and was the first UMass Lowell player to draw attention from the NFL scouts. He helped UMass Lowell to a four-year record of 35 and 4, including a 10 and 1 record in his senior season.

Lafferty was a four-time Division III All-New England selection by the Associated Press. He was also named to several All-American teams, and still holds the record for most receptions by a tight end (119). A 1993 graduate, Lafferty is currently a police officer in the city of Lowell, where he resides.
