UMass Lowell Athletics Hall of Fame
Peter Olsta (1966-69) was a two-year captain for the Lowell Technological Institute (LTI) baseball team. He ranks 11th all-time with his career .348 batting average in four seasons with the Terriers.
Olsta led the team in hitting in three of those years his average ranging between .313 and .415. Â
In 52 career appearances, he scored 43 runs and drove in an additional 21. His 14 stolen bases sit in a tie for 11th all-time, as well.
He is fourth all-time in hits with 70 and the four-year starter at shortstop was also honored as the winner of the University’s Lester Cushing Award as the school’s Most Outstanding Athlete.
