Men's Lacrosse 1983-86
With the sport of men's lacrosse returning to the University in 2014-15, it is fitting that the University honor one of the greatest players in the program's history.

McMahon had an immediate impact as a freshman, helping lead the Chiefs to an 11-1 record (7-0 clip in the Colonial League) and the Colonial League regular season championship. He maintained a .759 save percentage and was part of a team defense which allowed a paltry 5.1 goals per game.
McMahon put up similar numbers as a sophomore – 6.6 goals against and a .696 save rate – in leading ULowell to a 12-1 finish and a 6-1 clip in the Colonial League, good for second place. He was named a Colonial League all-star as the Chiefs peaked at No. 3 in the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III New England Region Poll.
After ULowell struggled to a 7-8 record in 1985, McMahon enjoyed a stellar senior year in which he posted a 7.13 goals against average and a .702 save percentage while the Chiefs went 9-6 overall (5-2 CL).
He earned a slew of honors, including USILA Honorable Mention All-America and Colonial League all-star status. He was also invited to play in both the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) and USILA North-South all-star games.
