UMass Lowell Athletics

A member of the men's cross country team, Flemming made history when he won the 1975 NCAA DIII Cross Country National Championship, becoming the first ever national champion for the newly-created and then-named University of Lowell. Continuing to be one of the best runners in the country, he finished fifth in the 1977 Boston Marathon with a time of 2:18:37 before winning the 1982 USATF New England Track 5k and the 1983 USATF National 25k.
