(1986) - The seventh Leading scorer in Lowell intercollegiate basketball history, Chris Prince is the first player elected to the Hall of Fame who played his entire career at the University of Lowell. He was elected in his third year of eligibility.
One of the outstanding players of the early ULowell years, Chris played through the transitional seasons following the merger of Lowell State College and Lowell Technological Institute (1975) and the step up to Division II from Division III in 1977. He tallied 1,342 points in 97 games to place seventh-all-time and third in ULowell's 11 year history while helping the team post a 42-56 record under coaches Jim Stone (1975-76) and Tony Romano (1976-79).
He ranked (ULowell years 1975-86) eighth in games played (97), second in field goals attempted and made (1186 and 571 respectively), seventh in free throws attempted and made (255 and 200), fifth in assists (320), fourth in steals (115) and second in career free throw percentage (.784). His career field goal percentage (.481) was among the school's top ten.
Chris' single-season point totals of 394 and 362 ranked as the nigh and 16th best in history and he had a career high 31 points as a sophomore against Southeastern Massachusetts. In addition, he pulled down 313 rebounds (3.2 per game).
A four year letterman, he twice led the team in scoring and was co-captain with Peter Forbes his senior year. He was named the ECAC's Division II Player of the Week for his play the week of December 9, 1979.
