(1986) - One of only a handful of four-time All-Americans in the University of Lowell's athletic history, Marc Linscheid was one of the nation's premier Division II weightmen during his four years of competition for coach George Davis' men's track team. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in second year of eligibility.

In his four seasons of competition, Marc twice won the NCAA championship in the hammer throw and was a four-time All-American in that event. As a freshman, he won the Division III championship with a throw of 190-7 (58.09 meters). He was invited to the Division I Championships were he placed 12th. As a senior, he captured the Division II title with a throw of 206-4 (62.90 meters) and placed 14th in the Division I finals.

Still the school record holder in the hammer throw with a toss of 209-3, Marc finished no lower than third in the NCAA Division II and III Championships (1977-80) for which he qualified. He was invited to the Division I meet three times. He won numerous meets and championships including the Penn Relays (1978), the Eastern league (1980) and represented ULowell on the American Colleges Team in Mexico City competing against South America in 1978. He also represented his native Ireland in the Soviet Union at the European Junior Championships in 1978 finishing tenth.

The holder of the ten best hammer throws in ULowell track history, the native of Ireland (County Meath) was a four-year letterman outdoors and a four-year letterman indoors competing in the 35-pound weight throw. In that event, he is the second ranked individual (only 1983 Hall of Fame inductee Bill Haskell was better) in school history.

Twice the team captain, Marc graduated in 1981 after finishing his studies in Management.
