Biography

AS A SENIOR (2020-21): Appeared in 16 games for the River Hawks, netting three goals and two assists for five points…Finished the year with a +1 rating…Dished out an assist on the game-winning goal against Vermont in the opening round of the 2021 Hockey East Tournament (3/10)…Finished the year with 12 blocked shots.

AS A JUNIOR (2019-20): He skated in 33 games in his junior season for the River Hawks, posting six points (3g,3a) with a +4 plus/minus rating. UMass Lowell owned a 5-1-0 record when Baxter scored a point. Baxter owned a plus or even rating in 26 off 33 games for the River Hawks. He was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team for the third consecutive season. 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2018-19): Baxter was one of eight River Hawks to play in all 37 contents, posting nine points (2g,7a) with a +4 plus/minus rating and 25 shots on goal. He notched five (2g,3a) of his nine points in 24 Hockey East contests. Scored his first collegiate goal on Dec. 7th at Boston University. Baxter amassed a career-high two assists in the 4-2 road win at Bentley on October 27th. Recorded a season-high three-game point streak from Jan. 12 to Jan. 19th. Totaled a season-high four shots on goal against UMass on February 9th. UMass Lowell owned a 7-1-0 record when Baxter scored a point. Baxter registered assists on three game-winning goals. Had a plus or even rating in 27 of 37 games on the year.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18): Baxter skated in 30 contests in his freshman season, recording nine assists with a +12 plus/minus rating, which was a team-best on the River Hawks' roster. Two of his nine assists came on game-winning goals. Posted his first collegiate assist on October 20th at Clarkson. Baxter tallied a career-high four shots on goal in his second career game on October 7th at UNH. UMass Lowell owned a 6-3-0 record when he notched an assist. 

Previous Team: Played the last one and a half seasons for the Burlington Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL). Notched 29 points (3g,26a) last year (16-17) in 45 contests. Prior to Burlington, he played a year and a half for the Milton Icehawks. In 2015-16, he split the year between Burlington and Milton, posting 28 points (8g,20a) in 50 games in the OJHL. 

Personal: Son of Norman and Linda... Has a brother Andrew and sister Emily... His favorite TV show is Suits... His favorite professional sports team is the Ottawa Senators and his favorite athlete is Erik Karlsson... His favorite sports moment is winning the 2013 OHL Cup Championship... He would like to play hockey professionally and if that doesn't work out he wants to work as a investment banker.
