THOUGHTS FROM RESA: "It's a great feeling for everyone, for the girls to understand what they are capable of and get a little bit of relief on this is what we can do more often," said Head Coach Resa Provanzano. "We need to keep the momentum going, we came out and we were playing hard and passionate last weekend, we need to do that every match, whether we are at home or down in Alabama. If we play that way, we will get good results."

BENNETT NAMED "RIVER HAWK OF THE WEEK": Junior middle blocker Lauren Bennett (Wilmington, Mass.) of the UMass Lowell Volleyball Team was named "River Hawk of the Week" on Tuesday afternoon. Bennett totaled 28 kills, a .453 hitting percentage and 10 total blocks in four matches last week, which included a career-high 18 kills and a .424 hitting percentage in UMass Lowell's 3-2 victory against Quinnipiac on Saturday night at Costello Athletic Center. She was the lone River Hawk named to the UMass Lowell All-Tournament Team for her efforts over the weekend. She has registered 64 kills this season, which ranks third on the River Hawks roster and leads the team with a .417 hitting percentage and 38 total blocks. Bennett's hitting percentage is also best among all America East players. The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen each week in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
