AS A SOPHOMORE (2016): Shimon played in 106 sets in her sophomore year, starting in 23 of 28 matches. Her 245 kills ranked second on the River Hawk roster to go along with 68 digs and 44 total blocks. Notched 10+ kills on 13 occasions, including a season-high 15 kills on September 10th at Boston College. Shimon was selected to the BC Classic All-Tournament Team for her efforts.

AS A FRESHMAN (2015): Shimon saw action in 106 sets and 30 matches in her freshman season. She led the team with 266 kills to go along with 93 digs and 28 total blocks. Shimon amassed a career-high 24 kills in her second to last match of the season on November 20th at Grand Canyon. Recorded a career-high 12 digs at Maryland-Eastern Shore on August 28th. Had 10+ kills in 10 matches in her freshman season. Her 2.58 kills per set was 11th best among America East players and her 2.64 kills per set in conference matches was 12th best.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year varsity player and captain her senior season at Dowling Catholic … led her teams to three high school state tournaments, including a runner-up finish in 2013 … during senior season she led the team to a record setting 39-7 record … named to the Central Iowa Metropolitan League Western Division Second Team, as well as to the All-Conference Second Team … won the 2014 National Championship with the All Iowa Attack club team ... Her IPVA club team placed third at 2015 Junior Nationals and she was named to the All-Tournament Team.

PERSONAL: Oldest daughter of Kristi and Jim Shimon ... nicknamed “Shim” ... outside of volleyball enjoys swimming, boating and going to concerts ... favorite sports figure is Misty May-Treanor ... favorite athletic teams include the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Cubs ... majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology.
