Delaney Mendez (Phoenix, Ariz.) have split time at setter, notching 110 and 104 assists, respectively. Shimon has posted 10 kills or more in three matches this season. Junior middle blocker
Lauren Bennett (Wilmington, Mass.) leads the team with 33 total blocks (7s,26a) in 2015. UMass Lowell ranks second in America East averaging 1.87 blocks per set.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: San Jose State - The Spartans (3-4) will take on the River Hawks for the teams' opening match of the UML Invitational. Tyanna Roy has a team-high 72 kills and 2.57 kills/set. Breann Robinson has registered 228 assists (8.44 per set), and Jamie Hirai has nine aces. Luiza Andrade has recorded 65 digs, and Roy leads the team with three blocks.
Holy Cross - The Crusaders enter the UML Invitational at 0-6, and will take on Quinnipiac in their first match. Holy Cross fell to the Bobcats earlier in the season, 3-2. Mandy Sifferien leads the team with 86 kills, 3.44 per set and nine aces. Emily Popp averages 3.82 digs/set, with 84 total so far this season. The Crusaders' net presence is led by Lynsey Petersen, with four blocks.
Qunnipiac - The Bobcats hold a 1-6 record, their lone win coming against Holy Cross in August. Quinnipiac will play the Crusaders and San Jose State, before battling the River Hawks. Katie Urycki leads the attack with 93 kills, good for 3.44 per set. Sierra Dawson has dished out 122 assists so far this season, and Cody Michaels has nine aces. Michaels also leads the team with 3.11 digs per set. Allison Leigh and Elizabeth Kloos control the net with eight and five blocks, respectively.
