LOWELL, Mass. – After scoring a career-high four goals, including the game-winner, UMass Lowell men's lacrosse freshman attack
Danny Burke (Eden Prairie, Minn.) has been named the River Hawk of the Week.
The attack played a huge role in Saturday afternoon's 13-12 victory over Wagner, scoring his first goal of the day with only ten seconds remaining in the first quarter, before adding one more just over a minute before halftime. Finally, the rookie came out firing in the fourth quarter, scoring 45 seconds in before adding the eventual game-winner with 7:40 remaining.
This marks the first River Hawk of the Week honor of Burke's career. Burke and the River Hawks will be back in action this Sunday, March 2, when they take on Queens of Charlotte in a neutral site match in Towson, Maryland at Beldon Field.
The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
