UMass Lowell junior Maddie Rice (Charlottesville, Va.) has been named River Hawk of the Week and the America East Player of the Week after delivering a dominant two-way performance in the River Hawks' 70–54 win at Central Connecticut State.

Rice was everywhere in the road victory, finishing with a career-high 23 points, adding 11 rebounds, two steals, and one assist in 39 minutes. She shot 7-for-9 from the field, 5-for-6 from three, and 4-for-5 at the line, turning in her most efficient outing of the season. Her 23 points marked the highest individual scoring performance of the year for UMass Lowell.

The junior helped power a balanced team effort that included 42 rebounds, nine steals, and holding CCSU to 27.9 percent shooting. The result marked UMass Lowell's second win of the season and its first on the road.
