AS A JUNIOR (2021-22): Made a career-best 25 appearances for UMass Lowell, putting up one goal and two assists for three points … Scored the game-winner against Maine (1/15) off his lone goal of the season … Ended the year with a +4 rating.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2020-21): Appeared in six games for the River Hawks…Finished the year four points off a goal and three assists as well as a +4 rating…Recorded the game-winning power play goal on the road against Vermont (2/26) ... Named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team.
AS A FRESHMAN (2019-20): Schulting played in 14 games as a freshman, posting a +3 plus/minus rating. Had a plus or even rating in 13 games for the River Hawks. Made his collegiate debut on October 6th vs. Alabama Hunstville at the Tsongas Center. Was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team and the Hockey East All-Academic All-Star team for his efforts in the classroom. Schulting also earned Hockey East Top Scholar-Athlete honors.
Previous Team: Schulting played the last three seasons for the Coquitlam Express in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). In 135 career games with the Express, he posted 71 points (12g,59a). He recorded a season-high 35 points (3g,32a) in 58 contents last season with Coquitlam. He notched 24 points (7g,17a) in 17-18, which doubled his 12 points (2g,10a) during the 16-17 campaign. He played in nine career playoff games (17-18, 18-19) over two season with the Express.
Personal: Son of Leah and Steve Schulting... Has twin brothers, Jacob and Christopher... Nickname is Schultz... In his time away from the rink he likes fishing, watersports, golf, music... His favorite TV show is Suits... His favorite professional sports team is the Vancouver Canucks... His favorite sports figures and influences are Michael Jordan and Chuck Kobasew. His greatest sports moment was winning the Canadian Sports School League championship in sophomore year. This moment was especially great because of the relationships I built with my teammates, and the sacrifices we made as a group to put everything on the line and win it all.
Why Schulting chose UMass Lowell: "I chose UMass Lowell because I felt like it was the perfect place for me to succeed in both athletics and academics. I fell in love with the campus and facilities when I came on my first visit here. I was also drawn to Lowell because of the tremendous fan support the hockey team has, as well as the high quality hockey program.
Schulting's plans after college: "I want to play professional hockey when I finish my time at Lowell. I also want to pursue a career in business, specifically entrepreneurship."
