Biography
Career: O'Neill finished his River Hawk career with 44 points (18g,26a) in 142 career contests.
2019-20 Season: He tied a career-high with 14 points (6g,8a) in his senior season, playing in all 34 contests for the River Hawks. UMass Lowell owned a 8-2-2 record when O'Neill scored a point. Was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team for the fourth consecutive season and also earned Hockey East Distinguished Scholar honors. He was named the recipient of the Billy Riley Unsung Hero Award for his hard work on and off the ice and was also honored as the winner of the Gus Coutu Award, given annually to the player who best exemplifies the spirit of the hockey program.
2018-19 Season: O'Neill played in all 37 game in his third season, posting eight points (3g,5a) with 43 shots on goal. Posted points in six games this year with two multi-point efforts. UMass Lowell was a perfect 6-0-0 when O'Neill scored a point.
2017-18 Season: O'Neill posted a career-high 14 points (3g,11a) in his sophomore year and was one of four River Hawks to play in all 36 games last season. He amassed 11 points (2g,9a) in 24 league games. Totaled points in 11 games last year, which included three multiple point games. UMass Lowell owned a 8-3-0 record in those contests he tallied a point. Four of his 11 assists were on game-winning goals.
2016-17 Season: O’Neill recorded eight points (6g,2a) with 31 shots on goal in 35 games in his freshman season with the River Hawks. Had a goal in the Hockey East semifinals against Notre Dame on March 17th at TD Garden. Had a point in six games this season, which includes a career-high two goals on Dec. 2nd vs. UConn (which were his first two colllegiate goals) and March 12th vs. UNH in Game 3 of the HEA quarterfinals. The River Hawks owned a 5-1-0 record when O’Neill scored a point.
Previous Team: Played last season for Okotoks Oilers in the AJHL for Head Coach James Poole … O’Neill registered 55 points (16g,39a) in 59 regular-season games, en route to being named Team MVP … During the 15-16 playoffs with the Oilers, he amassed six points (1g,5a) in eight games.
