LOWELL, Mass. – Junior goalkeeper Moritz Aé (Leipzig, Germany) finished with a career-high six saves, as the UMass Lowell men's soccer team (1-2-2) battled to a 0-0 draw against the Holy Cross Crusaders (0-3-3) in Tuesday night's Senior Night game.

"It was a battle," said Head Coach Kyle Zenoni. "Obviously it's frustrating to not win the game. I think we're just struggling to find ways to win at this point. It was nice to see, defensively, we had our first shutout of the season. But we're struggling to find ways to score goals. We just have to stay the course and hopefully it turns around at some point for us."

Seven different River Hawks finished with at least a shot in the match, while senior Ethan Agyare-Danso (Etobicoke, Canada) and junior Marinho Oldenburg (Utrecht, Netherlands) each finished with two shots, including one on target.

The Crusaders came out hot offensively, firing off a handful of shots in the opening ten minutes, but Aé was up for the challenge, making a trio of saves to keep things scoreless. Moments later, the River Hawks had their first strong scoring opportunity of the night, as Agyare-Danso worked his way just in front of the net before firing off a shot that was blocked by the opposing keeper. Quick on his feet, junior Fredrik Moen (Sarpsborg, Norway) collected the rebound and ripped a shot of his own, but a Crusaders' defender was right there to reject the shot, keeping the game knotted up at 0-0 twenty minutes in.

In the 28^th minute, the visitors started to push the pace, controlling possession while tallying another four shots. UMass Lowell's defense continued to stand strong though, as Aé made another save alongside a team block to prevent a Crusaders' goal. Although senior Linus Musielak (Dortmund, Germany) registered another shot for the hosts in the final minutes, the game stayed scoreless heading into halftime.

Coming out of the break, both sides continued to play lock down defense, as neither team logged a shot for over 20 minutes of play. Agyare-Danso and Oldenburg then got things going for the offense, as the two put pressure on Holy Cross with a pair of shots before the in a five-minute span.

In the final 20 minutes, Holy Cross held a slight, 6-4 shot advantage, but neither side was able to capitalize, sealing the 0-0 decision.

Next up, the River Hawks hit the road to visit Iona on Saturday, September 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Mazzella Field in New Rochelle, N.Y.
