No. 11 River Hawks downed in OT at No. 7 Boston University, 2-1

BOSTON --
The No. 11 ranked UMass Lowell Hockey team was defeated at No. 7 Boston University, 2-1, in overtime on Friday night at in front of 4,134 fans at Agganis Arena in Hockey East action.

With the loss, the River Hawks drop to 17-7-5 overall (10-5-4 HEA), while the Terriers improve to 17-8-4 and 10-4-3 in league play.

BU's Mike Moran opening the scoring in the game at 17:23 of the second frame, as he beat Kevin Boyle (Manalapan, N.J.) five-hole for his third goal of the season. Senior forward A.J. White (Dearborn, Mich.) tied the game at 1-1 with his eighth of the season at 12:31 of the third period off a rebound from a Ryan Dmowski (East Lyme, Conn.) shot. Dmowski finished the night with a career and game-high eight shots on goal.

Jordan Greenway scored the game-winning power play tally for the Terriers just 29 seconds into the extra frame for his fifth goal of the season.

The team skated to a scoreless first period with BU holding a 10-9 shot advantage.

Boyle finished the night with 28 saves in the losing effort, while Sean Maguire stopped 25 shots in his 10th win of the season.

The River Hawks return to action on Saturday, February 13th in the series finale vs. Boston University. Game time from the Tsongas Center is 7 p.m.

Tickets for all River Hawks home hockey games are on sale now. Game tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors (65 ) and military, and $12 and children (12 and under). UMass Lowell students receive free admission by scanning their ID as part of the "River Hawk Rewards" campaign. Tickets can be purchased at the Tsongas Center Box Office, which is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. during the week.
