River Hawks host pair of America East matches this weekend

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS:
UMass Lowell enters the weekend with a 4-21 overall record and a 1-7 mark in America East play, as they currently sit in sixth place in the league standings. The River Hawks have lost six straight matches and own a 2-5 record in seven matches this season at Costello Athletic Center. UMass Lowell suffered a 3-0 loss in its most recent match last Sunday at UMBC. Freshman outside hitter Erica Cappellino (Penfield, N.Y.) tallied a career-high nine kills in the match for the River Hawks to go along with a .389 hitting percentage and five digs. Freshman setter Delaney Mendez (Phoenix, Ariz.) amassed 24 assists running the River Hawks' offense, while freshman libero Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Ill.) notched 13 digs in another strong defensive outing. UMass Lowell fell to New Hampshire in its first meeting of the season on October 11th by a 3-0 score in Durham and defeated Hartford the previous night (3-2) in West Hartford for the River Hawks first league victory of the season.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS: New Hampshire enters Friday's match with a 16-8 overall mark and 8-1 record in America East matches. The Wildcats are coming off a 3-0 loss to Albany last Sunday at Lundholm Gymnasium. UNH owns a 10-4 record away from their home court this season. Tori Forrest leads the team in kills with 250, while Demi Muses is right behind her with 239. Setter Keelin Severtson has amassed a team-leading 795 assists, while Madison Lightfoot has posted 368 digs.

SCOUTING THE HAWKS: Hartford enters the weekend with a 1-24 overall record and a 0-9 mark in America East action. The Hawks are coming off a 3-1 win at Quinnipiac on Wednesday night. Paulina Modestow's 234 kills leads the Hawks' roster, while Katy Henchy has recorded 213 kills on the season.

AMERICA EAST LEADERS: Junior middle blocker Lauren Bennett (Wilmington, Mass.) ranks second the league with a .293 hitting percentage and 86 total blocks. Freshman libero Lindsey Visvardis' 3.95 digs per set in fourth best in America East. Freshman middle blocker Lade Adeniyi (Sprinfield, Ill.) ranks fifth in the conference with 70 total blocks.
