With the loss, the River Hawks fall to 2-24 overall (0-9 AE), while Albany improves to 7-14 and 5-4 in America East play.
Senior middle blocker
Anisa Smith (Moraga, Calif.) registered a team-high eight kills, while adding a .200 hitting percentage and 10 digs in the losing effort for the River Hawks. Senior outside hitter
Ella Merrill (Bermuda Dunes) and freshman outside hitter
Masha Yelsukova (Santa Clara, Calif.) chipped in with seven and six kills, respectively.
Junior setter
Kylee Chun (Las Vegas, Nevada) amassed 27 assists and eight digs running the UMass Lowell offense, while senior libero
Hannah Rey (San Diego, Calif.) turned in another solid performance with 24 digs in the match against the Great Danes.
The River Hawks posted a match-high 15 kills and .214 hitting percentage as a team in the second set.
UMass Lowell returns to action on Friday, November 7th against New Hampshire at Costello Athletic Center. Match time is 7 p.m. in Lowell, Mass.
