Box Score LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell women's volleyball team was defeated by the University at Albany, 3-0 (21-25, 26-28, 19-25) on Friday night at Costello Athletic Center.
With the loss, the River Hawks fall to 2-17 overall (0-2 AE), while Albany improved to 3-11 (1-1 AE).
Senior outside hitter
Ella Merrill (Bermuda Dunes, Calif.) led the River Hawks offense with a team-high 11 kills, while adding six digs in the losing effort. Sophomore middle blocker
Elima Ahzi (San Diego, Calif.) chipped in with nine kills on the night to go along with a .300 hitting percentage and four total blocks. Junior setter
Kylee Chun (Las Vegas, Nevada) finished with night with 29 assists running the UMass Lowell offense.
Senior libero
Hannah Rey (San Diego, Calif.) tallied 25 digs to lead the River Hawks' defense once again. It marked her eighth 20+ dig match of the season.
UMass Lowell recorded 20 of its 38 kills in the second frame for a .220 hitting percentage.
The River Hawks return to action on Sunday, October 5th against America East foe Binghamton (1 p.m.) at Costello Athletic Center.
