UMass Lowell Athletics

AS A JUNIOR (2016): Ahzi appeared in 21 matches and 56 sets in her senior season. She tallied 44 kills, a career-high 13 service aces, 18 digs and 26 total blocks in her final season in Lowell. Ahzi notched a season-high seven kills twice, which included her final collegiate match on November 13th at Stony Brook. Totaled three more more kills seven times and had multiple service aces in four contests, including a career-high four service aces on September 30th at UAlbany. In America East play, her 0.43 service aces per game was tied for the America East lead. She notched 12 of her 13 service aces in league play, which ranked 10th among America East players. 

AS A JUNIOR (2015): Ahzi played in 94 sets and 29 matches in her junior season. She recorded 136 kills, which ranked fourth on the UMass Lowell roster, to go along with 57 total blocks, 23 digs and nine service aces. Amassed a career-high 12 kills on September 18th vs. Mississippi Valley State and a career-high six blocks on October 25th vs. Quinnipiac. Had 10+ kills twice and 5+ kills on 12 occasions and totaled 3+ total blocks nine times. Ahzi was named to the UAB Invitational All-Tournament Team.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2014): She played in 105 games and played in all 33 matches, starting on 22 occasions for the River Hawks in 2014. She recorded 116 kills, which ranked fourth on the team and registered a .102 hitting percentage. She amassed 41 digs and 59 total blocks (12s,47a) which was the second best total on the River Hawks' roster. Ahzi recorded a career-high nine kills on Oct. 3rd vs. Albany at the Costello Athletic Center. She recorded five kills or more 13 times. Had a season-high six digs at New Hampshire on Sept. 26th. Totaled a career-high five blocks three times in her sophomore year on Sept. 20th vs. San Jose State, Nov. 14th vs. Stony Brook and Nov. 22nd in the season finale against Incarnate Word. Ahzi also added a career-high three service aces on Nov. 22nd vs. NJIT.

AS A FRESHMAN (2013): Saw action in all 25 matches with 24 starts (75 games played) • Had 68 kills, 36 blocks and nine digs • Highlights include eight kills in a 1-3 loss to Hartford (10/11).  

BEFORE UMASS LOWELL: Played volleyball all four years at East Lake High School • Also played basketball • Received the Union Tribune All-Academic student-athlete award twice • Played club volleyball for Coast out of Sorrents Valley. 

PERSONAL: Ahzi is the daughter of Jeanette Tydingco-Ahzi and Abderrahim Ahzi of Chula Vista, Calif • Lists the Los Angeles Clippers as her favorite sports teams • Names Kerri Walsh-Jennings as her favorite athlete • Enjoys going to the beach and hanging out with family and friends • Her nickname is "Leems" • Majoring in Business - International Marketing.
