Seniors
Sylvain Debiais (St. Jean de Monts, France) and
Andrew Fecteau (Newbury, Mass.) each shot a 78 Tuesday as UMass Lowell slipped into a tie for 14
th place after the second round of the NCAA Tournament East-Atlantic Super Regional at the Oglebay Resort Speidel Jones Course.
UMass Lowell carded a 321 for the second round, coupled with its 311 on Monday, and dropped from a tie for seventh (332).
Wilmington (Del.) University remains the leader as it shot a 301 Tuesday followed by a Monday round of 298 for a 599. Indiana (Pa.) currently sits in second place (308-295—603) while Millersville (309-296—605), California (Pa.) (310-300—610) and St. Thomas Aquinas (310-304—614) rounded out the top five.
The top three teams along with the top two individuals (unaffiliated with the top three teams) advance to the NCAA Championship May 20-24 in Hershey, Pa.
Debiais, who has a two-day score of 154 for a share of 25
th place, shot three birdies on the day: The first on the par-four 13
th hole (378 yards), the second on the par-four 18
th (452) and the third on the par-three 4
th (192 yards).
Fecteau, in a tie for 38
th with a 78-78—156, birdied the par-four 2
nd hole (384 yards).
Sophomore
Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) shot an 82 following Monday's 78 (160, tied for 64th) as he birdied the par-four 10
th (355 yards) and the par-three 15
th (155 yards).
Following Monday's 79, sophomore
Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) struggled to an 87 and currently stands in a tie for 96
th place with a166. He highlighted with a birdie on the par-five fifth hole (511 yards).
Senior
Jordan Traa (Calgary, Alta.) rebounded nicely from Monday's 91 with an 83 (174) and sits in 105
th.
Robert Coyne of Millersville is the leader as he shot a one-under 70 today, preceded with a 73 Monday, for a two-round score of 143.
Traa tees off Wednesday's final round at 8:20 a.m., followed by Fay at 8:30, Hulme at 8:40, Fecteau at 8:50 and Debiais at 9:00.
