Day One Results
BALTIC, Conn. – The UMass Lowell men's golf team sits in ninth place out of 13 teams after two rounds and day one of the Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational.

The River Hawks shot a 309 in each of their first two rounds, giving them a two-round total of 618. They trail the next-place team, Sacred Heart University, by one stroke.

Bryant University sits in first place with a two-round score of 566. Army is second at 568, and host school the University of Connecticut is in third with a two-round score of 570.

Junior
Jonathan Burgin (Hampshire, England) shot the best two-round score amongst the River Hawks with a 151, tying him for 32 overall. Sophomore
Kevin Scott (Tyngsborough, Mass.) was second on the team with a score of 153.

Senior
Brian Valencia (Marlboro, Mass.) and sophomore
Eric Byrne (Derry, N.H.) tied for next on the team with scores of 155. Junior
Joe Vanaman (Kirkby-In-Ashfield, Nottingham, England) rounded out the team with a 166.

"The Til Duty Is Done hosted by UConn is a truly unique tournament," said head coach
Ken Hughes. "In addition to the 12 collegiate teams, there is a team of players from the Veteran's Golf Association competing as an exhibition team. It is an honor to see our players interact with these very special men, and golfers.
"One of our goals is to break 300, average 75 a man," Hughes continued. "We hope to do that tomorrow."

Scott recorded the lowest round for the River Hawks on day one, shooting a 73 during round two.

The River Hawks conclude with the Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational tomorrow, April 24. The third and final round tees off at 7:52 a.m., with the first UMass Lowell flight teeing off at approximately 10:08 a.m.
