Final Results
BALTIC, Conn. – The UMass Lowell men's golf team took 11th place out of 13 teams after two days and three rounds at the Til Duty Is Done Collegiate Invitational.

The River Hawks shot a team-score of 322 in the third round, giving them a total tournament score of 936. They trailed the next-best team, Central Connecticut State University, by eight strokes.

Host school University of Connecticut won the tournament with a score of 846. The University of Rhode Island came in second with an 857, followed by Army with an 866.

Junior Jonathan Burgin (Hampshire, England) led UMass Lowell with a three-round score of 227, putting him in 33rd place overall. Sophomore Eric Byrne (Derry, N.H.) was second on the team with a combined score of 232.

Sophomore Kevin Scott (Tyngsborough, Mass.) was next on the team with a score of 238, followed by senior Brian Valencia (Marlboro, Mass.) with a 241. Junior Joe Vanaman (Kirkby-In-Ashfield, Nottingham, England) rounded out the River Hawks with a score of 250.
"Competing in the Til Duty is Done was an awesome experience for our team," said head coach Ken Hughes. "We competed at a high level all weekend.
"Congrats and thanks to senior Brian Valencia who played in his final collegiate event," Hughes added.

Burgin had the lowest round on day two, shooting a four-over-par 76. Scott had the lowest round of the tournament for UMass Lowell, shooting a one-over-par 73 in the second round on day one.

In the third round, the River Hawks averaged 3.70 strokes per par 3, 4.66 strokes per par 4 and 5.05 per par 5. They shot eight birdies, 37 pars and no eagles during the final round.

With this tournament, the UMass Lowell men's golf team concludes their 11-tournament season.Â
