Andrew Fecteau (Newbury, Mass.) shot a five-over-par 76 for his first round and followed with a 79 Sunday (155) to lead the UMass Lowell golf team at the Dowling College September Shootout at Long Island National Golf Course.
UMass Lowell placed in sixth as it shot a collective 309 and a 317 for a tournament total 626. Adelphi (301-311—612) and the host Golden Lions (315-297—612) shared the team title. Post University (308-310—318) placed third and was followed by Concordia (308-311—619) and SUNY Farmingdale (310-315—625).
The tournament drew 88 players representing 16 teams.

Ian Gervais (New Limerick, Maine) struggled to a 97 his first round but improved to an 83 (180) on Sunday.
Ryan Snoffir of Adelphi earned medalist honors as he shot a 71-72—143, edging Jeff Schaller of Concordia, who shot a 70-74—144.
UMass Lowell enters the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Sunday and Monday at the En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, N.Y.
