UMass Lowell Places Sixth at Dominican Charger Challenge

Sophomore Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) carded rounds of four-over-par 76 and a 79 (155) to place in a tie for 12th and lead the UMass Lowell golf team to sixth place at the Dominican Charger Challenge at Spook Rock Golf Course.

UMass Lowell shot a combined 318 for the first round Sunday and a 323 Monday for a total score of 641. St. Thomas Aquinas won the title with a 303-300—603 while Concordia placed second with a 312-296—608 and Nyack third with a 317-306—623.

Le Moyne took fourth with a 319-309—628 while the host Chargers placed fifth with a 318-322-640.
The tournament drew 10 colleges and 54 players.

Hulme's 155 led UMass Lowell while senior Andrew Fecteau (Newbury, Mass.) placed tied for 24th with an 80-81—161; and sophomore Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) 25th with rounds of 80-82—162.

Senior Jordan Traa (Calgary, Alta.) was right behind in 27th place with rounds of 80-83—163 while junior Takeaki Igarashi (Sacramento, Calif.) finished in 45th with an 84-89—173.
