Sophomore Homero Morais (Somerville, Mass.) scored two goals and senior M Bruno Bonicontro (Marlboro, Mass.) played provider on both as No. 6 UMass Lowell defeated the College of Saint Rose, 4-2, Saturday afternoon in Albany, N.Y.

With the victory, UMass Lowell improved to 10-0-1 overall and 9-0-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference and visits No. 1 LIU Post Wednesday (3:00) in Brookville, N.Y.

Saint Rose slipped to 0-10-0 overall and 0-7-0 in the Conference.

Morais started early as he opened the scoring in the 12^th minute when he took a feed from Bonicontro on the right side of the box in slotted inside the far post. However, freshman M Martin Schlegel sent a through ball on to which that sophomore Jeff Kozlowski slipped into the lower right corner in the 18^th minute to draw level.

The River Hawks put themselves in front three minutes from intermission when sophomore F Eric DeSantis (Woburn, Mass.) won a long ball from the back and fired his shot inside the right post.

Regardless, Saint Rose generated some pace at the onset of the second half as senior M Daniel Nilsson settled a square feed off the foot of freshman M Nick Iuorno and fired a shot that ricocheted off the left post and into the net to again square the match even.

Four minutes later, however, Morais gave UMass Lowell the lead for good when he headed Bonicontro's cross into the top left corner of the goal.

Junior M Daniel Galvin (Attleboro, Mass.) sealed the win in the 87^th when he collected a loose ball in the area and tucked a shot past Saint Rose GK Todd Lawson.

UMass Lowell outshot Saint Rose, 20-9 overall and 10-3 on target. Lawson had six saves for the Golden Knights while junior GK Chris Maierle (Wantagh, N.Y.) had one save.
