MEDIA: Telegram & Gazette: Marlboro's Bruno Bonicontro Revives UMass-Lowell Soccer.AS A SENIOR: Named to Daktronics All-East Region First Team • Northeast-10 Conference First team All-Conference • Played in all 22 games with 21 starts • Compiled eight goals and seven assists • Three game winning goals • Ranked fifth among NE-10 point leaders and fifth among assist leaders • He was named the NE-10 Player of the Week three times over the season • Highlights include two goals in a 4-1 win over American Int'l (9/18) • Scored GWG in overtime to beat Merrimack 2-1 (9/5).
AS A JUNIOR: Northeast-10 Conference Third team all-star • Saw action in 17 matches with 16 starts • Scored three goals and dished six assists on the year • Highlights include scoring two assist in a 3-2 win vs. Stonehill College (10/28).
AS A SOPHOMORE: Started seven of the first eight games before suffering a season ending injury.
AS A FRESHMAN:Saw action in all 16 matches with 14 starts • Had four assist during the season.
MARLBOROUGH HIGH SCHOOL: Played varsity soccer for Steven Bishop at Marlborough High School • Member of four league champion teams and two district champion squads • Two-time All-League selection • Two-time Central-Mass All-Star • All State, All-New England and League Most Valuable Player selection as a senior • Also played for the FC Blazers club team out of Boston for coach Francis Okaroh • Club team three-time state champions and three-time regional finalists.
