LOWELL, Mass. – Three assists in two matches last week propelled sophomore Nora Belin (Stockholm, Sweden) past Calliste Brookshire for the UMass Lowell women’s soccer Division I single-season assist record. Following the excellent week, the forward was named River Hawk of the Week, presented by Worker’s Credit Union.
With UMass Lowell leading NJIT 1-0 late, Belin broke the record and helped ice the match. She dropped a downfield pass to freshman Ines Pietikainen (Espoo, Finland), who found senior Luka Marceau (Newton, Mass.) wide open for the goal.
She logged the historic assist less than 72 hours after scoring a late goal and assisting two other River Hawk goals against New Hampshire.
