LOWELL, Mass. – After picking up her second blank sheet of the season in a 1-0 victory against 2015 America East Champion UAlbany on September 25, sophomore goalkeeper Julia Schneider (Bridgewater, Mass.) was tabbed River Hawk of the Week, as announced on Wednesday.
Schneider tallied six saves to pick up her second win of the season, and helped the River Hawks improve to 3-4-2 overall and 1-0-0 in America East action. Sunday’s victory marked the program’s first win against the Great Danes in the Division I era. With the shutout, Schneider now sits fifth overall on the career shutout list with six.
The Bridgewater, Mass. native has started seven of the squad’s nine games this fall, amassing a 2-4-1 record, a 1.01 goals against average, 37 saves and a .841 save percentage
The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
Schneider and the club are back in action on Thursday, September 29 against conference foe Maine at Cushing Field Complex in a 7 p.m. tilt.
