AS A GRADUATE STUDENT (2024): Appeared in and started 51 games…Hit .292 in 178 at bats…Totaled 52 hits, 32 runs, 11 doubles, two triples, one homer and 30 RBI…Had a .393 slugging percentage…Drew 28 walks and stole five bases…Had 285 putouts and 33 assists for a .985 fielding percentage…Caught 14 runners stealing…Holds program record for caught stealing in a career (60)…Had season-highs in hits (4), doubles (2) and runs scored (3) at Bryant (4/20)…Became the third player and first catcher  in program history to make 200 appearances for UMass Lowell…Named to the 2024 America East All-Conference First Team.

AS A SENIOR (2023): Made 49 appearances and 46 starts behind the plate…Hit .277 with 30 runs, 49 hits, 26 RBI and 76 total bases in 177 at bats…Recorded a team-high 15 doubles and sat tied for fifth in the league…Sat third in the league catching 13 runners stealing…Ranked eighth in the league with 254 putouts…Named to 2023 Buster Posey Watch List…Earned 2023 America East All-Championship Team and America East All-Conference Second Team honors.

AS A JUNIOR (2022): Appeared in 54 games and was a starter in 51 games… Had a .243 batting average… Recorded 43 hits, 10 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs, and 22 RBI, which are all career highs… Posted 36 runs and 29 walks… Had a .977 fielding percentage this season, finished with the most putouts of the team with 346 and caught the most runners stealing in America East with 20.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2021): Started 37 of 39 game appearances … held batting average of .298 (34 H, 114 AB), a .404 SLG%, and .374 OB% … tallied seven doubles, a triple, a home run and drove in 16 RBI … drew 12 walks … fielding percentage of .988 … went 4/4 at the plate at Binghamton including a pair of doubles (3.27) … drove in four runs against UAlbany (4.18).

AS A FRESHMAN (2020):
**Season shortened due to COVID-19**  Started in six of the 10 games he appeared in…hit a season-best two hits at Elon (2.23)…collected his first collegiate home-run at Virginia (3.11)… America East Winter/Spring Honor Roll selection.
 
HIGHLIGHTS: Two-sport athlete (hockey and baseball) … three-time captain … broke school record for most career varsity games his senior year… led the team in hits, doubles and runs scored his senior year… OCL All-Star all four years… Under Armour Preseason All-American heading into junior and senior years … Boston Herald player to watch sophomore, junior and senior years … Perfect Game All Region Honorable Mention … was a Cape Cod Challenger Club volunteer.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Daniel and Susan Proto…has one brother, Casey … his cousin, Mike Proto, played baseball at Clemson (1998-2001) … hobbies include working out and reading … favorite TV show is Entourage … favorite professional sports team is the Boston Red Sox … favorite sports figures are Bryce Harper and Alex Verdugo … greatest sports moment was playing in a national championship for Team Cape Cod … criminal justice major.
