River Hawks Anticipate Baseball Alumni Weekend

LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell baseball program is set for alumni weekend on October 23 and 24. Alumni of the storied baseball program will convene in the Mill City to reconnect and unwind, with multiple events slated for the weekend.

"We're excited about this year's alumni weekend, which has evolved over the last few years into something truly special," said Head Coach Nick Barese. "No doubt it's going to be a great finale to our fall season."

Kicking off the weekend is the annual Boutin-Stone Golf Tournament on October 23. Registration at Four Oaks Country Club will begin at 9 a.m., with the shotgun start set for an hour later. The registration costs $150 per golfer and includes green fee, cart and lunch.

"The Boutin-Stone Golf Tournament is a staple of our program, bringing the River Hawk family together while also honoring two of the most important figures in the team's history," Barese said.

Later in the evening, UMass Lowell hockey takes on Providence. The alumni weekend celebrations continue with baseball alumni night, as alumni join Barese in the Corporate Suite at the Tsongas Center for the game.

Food and drinks, as well as a cash bar, will be available. The suite reception is at 6 p.m., and puck drop is at 7:15 p.m.

Following Friday's events, the baseball alumni game will take place at LeLacheur Park at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 24. Former players take the field and play at UMass Lowell's home park once again.

"We're looking forward to the return of an alumni game and finishing the weekend by getting past and present together for our end-of-fall cookout," Barese said.
