Nina Hertz-Saebbö Named River Hawk of the Week

LOWELL, Mass. – After scoring her sixth goal of the season in a 1-1 draw at Maine, sophomore Nina Hertz-Saebbö (Gothenburg, Sweden) of the UMass Lowell women's soccer program was named River Hawk of the Week.

"I am thrilled for Nina because she's worked so hard for her performances," said Head Coach Mira Novak. "The fact she's doing so well, even after sitting out a portion of the season with an injury, is a testament to the work and mindset she applies every day in training."

Hertz-Saebbö is in the midst of a historic season, scoring goals at an extremely high clip. She currently leads the America East Conference in both goals and points and has scored in each of UMass Lowell's first two conference matches.

Despite missing a few matches due to injury, Hertz-Saebbö has scored in six of the seven total matches she's played. She's the fastest player in the program's Division I history to reach six goals in a season, and just the third to score six goals in a span of seven or fewer matches.

To start America East play, Hertz-Saebbö has scored goals on the road against Binghamton and Maine, the top two teams in the conference preseason polls. Her two goals pushed the River Hawks to consecutive 1-1 draws.

Up next, Hertz-Saebbö looks to score for a fourth straight match as the River Hawks host Vermont at Cushing Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 1.
