BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Carlos Martinez (Coamo, Puerto Rico) of the UMass Lowell baseball team was selected to the 2026 America East Preseason All-Conference Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Martinez, a senior outfielder, has been a major contributor to the offense, as he led the team in hits over the last two seasons with 61 in 2025 and 72 in 2024. The Puerto Rico native saw action in 51 games with 50 starts during the 2025 season, recording a .299 batting average and totaling 30 runs, 27 RBI, 12 doubles and six home runs. A strong presence in right field, Martinez added 131 putouts with three assists for a .971 fielding percentage. In his first year at UMass Lowell, Martinez highlighted his offensive contributions by setting the new UMass Lowell single-season program record for doubles with 26 in 2024.

The River Hawks begin the 2026 campaign at Morehead State on February 13.
