LOWELL, Mass. – Freshman
Nate Misskey (Melfort, SK) of the UMass Lowell ice hockey team has been named Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, following a heroic performance in Friday's 4-3 overtime victory at No. 20 Boston University, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
The defenseman scored the game-winning goal two minutes into the overtime period when he wrapped around the net and snuck it past the goaltender to give the River Hawks the ranked victory on the road. He also finished the game with a tie for the team lead with two blocked shots, adding one on Saturday for a total of three on the weekend.
This marks the first Hockey East weekly award of his career.
