BOSTON, Mass. – After an impressive victory against UAlbany to close out the home slate in the regular season, sophomore Gaby Eckroth (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) was named the America East Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman Nora Belin (Stockholm, Sweden) was tabbed the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Eckroth, an attacking threat, had a standout performance on Sunday against UAlbany, collecting an assist and a goal for three points in the contest. With her eyes on a win, Eckroth got things started by setting up the first goal of the game for the River Hawks with an assist. Later, in the 62nd minute, she recorded the game-winning goal, marking the first time in her career where she has tallied one assist and one goal in the same game.

Belin has been a consistent offensive piece for the River Hawks during her rookie campaign, earning back-to-back America East Rookie of the Week honors and third overall this season. On Sunday, Belin registered one goal in the 3-1 victory over the Great Danes, solidifying the win with a score in the 85th minute. She has shown her goal-scoring ability throughout the season, as she has scored in three consecutive games, with one goal against UAlbany, Vermont, and Maine.

With one week remaining in the regular season, Belin has appeared in 13 games for UMass Lowell, making six starts, while also logging 548 minutes played with six goals for 12 points. Eckroth has played in 12 games for the River Hawks, starting in nine contests, while logging 653 minutes with six goals and two assists for 14 points.

Along with the America East Offensive Player of the Week award, Eckroth has also been named River Hawk of the Week. The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
