LOWELL, Mass. – Senior
Owen Cole (Dunnville, Ontario) of the UMass Lowell ice hockey team (4-1-0, 1-0-0 Hockey East) has earned Hockey East Co-Player of the Week honors following his outstanding performance in a 6-3 victory at Merrimack on Saturday evening.
The captain exploded for four points in the win, scoring his third goal of the year in addition to three assists. He potted the team's fifth goal of the game after tallying an assist on the second, third and eventual game-winning fourth goal. The performance helped lift the River Hawks to their fourth consecutive win and first Hockey East win of the year.
This marks the first Hockey East Player of the Week honor of Cole's career and for his efforts, he was also named the River Hawk of the Week on October 29.
The team will now travel to Holy Cross for a standalone matchup on Friday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m.
