RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- The UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team earned an 8-5 victory at Manhattan on Saturday afternoon in non-conference play at Gaelic Park.
UMass Lowell improves to 3-2 overall with its second consecutive road victory, while the Japers fall to 4-3 overall on season.

Liam McDonough had a really strong week at the x. Manhattan has some dynamic offensive guys so we had to play strong collectively. Will Russo played a great game on both ends of the field. That was especially great after he was named a captain last night at our team dinner. He's been a tremendous leader for us this year."
Brandon Beland notched a game-high three points (2g,1a) in the win for the River Hawks, while
Gage Sevigny and
Jake Lining also posted two goals in the game.
The River Hawks held a 5-3 lead at halftime on goals from five different players in the first half.
The teams played to a scoreless first quarter and the River Hawks outshot Manhattan, 16-8 in the third quarter.
Domenic Giachello and Will Russo each has seven shots in the win for UMass Lowell, while
Cam Hult finished the day with seven ground balls.
Senior goalie
Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) totaled eight saves in his second win of the season, while Brendan Krebs amassed 14 stops in the loss for the Jaspers.
The River Hawks return to action on Tuesday, March 12th at UMass in a Kennedy Cup Challenge contest. Game time from Garber Field in Amherst, Mass. is 3 p.m.
