ALBANY, N.Y. -- Junior attackman Dan Cozzi (Reading, Mass.) totaled a career-high six points (3g,3a) to pace the UMass Lowell Lacrosse team in the 17-11 loss at UAlbany on Saturday afternoon in the America East opener at Casey Stadium.
UMass Lowell falls to 3-4 overall (0-1 AE), while the Great Danes improve to 2-4 overall (1-0 AE).

Cory Highfield (Georgetown, Ont.) added four points (1g,3a) in the losing effort for UMass Lowell. Freshman face-off midfielder
Liam McDonough (Groton, Mass.) finished the game with 14 ground balls and won 22-of-31 (71%) face-offs for the River Hawks.
The River Hawks owned a 5-3 lead in the first 24 minutes of the game.
Senior goalie
Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) stopped 11 shots for the River Hawks, while Nate Siekierski recorded 14 saves in his second win of the season for the Great Danes.
Mitch Laffin amassed seven goals in the win for the Great Danes, while Jakob Patterson posted nine points (2g,7a).
UMass Lowell owned the advantage against UAlbany in ground balls at 37-31.
The River Hawks return to action on Tuesday, March 19th against Providence College. Game time from Cushing Field Complex is 7 p.m.
