Carolina League Release
LOWELL, Mass. -- Former UMass Lowell baseball player Danny Mendick has been named a Carolina League All-Star, and will compete in the upcoming All-Star Game on June 20th for the South Division.Â
The Winston-Salem shortstop is batting .294 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 58 games so far this season. Mendick's paces the lineup with his 52 hits and .868 OPS, while his 33 runs, 11 doubles and nine stolen bases rank second on the Dash.
Mendick was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 2015 draft, and was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game last season.Â
